DEAR CHURCH GIRL ...
I am so pleased with you that you are a committed and zealous member of your church. You could even be a part of the church's work force or even the V.P of the single sisters. I congratulate you. It's commendable indeed.
But can I tell you what?
Build capacity in the secret place. It's not enough to attend every activity althrough the week, you may gain the recognition of your pastor as a vibrant sister. But you know yourself better than anyone else does. Life in itself is spiritual, you can't afford to be casual.
Dear church girl, quit playing church and genuinely seek (press) to know God. Most of us can attest to the fact that if not for the prayers of our mothers that has kept us, we would have been history by now.
Build your spirituality. Do you know why?
You will not stay with your mom forever. You will have your own home someday, you will face real life situations. Your pastor will not be there for you 24 hours of the day, he has his own life and problems too. So, you must know God for yourself.
Dear church girl, you are a potential home builder. Your spirituality will to a long extent handle some mishaps in your home. It takes a spiritual woman to sense danger from miles away. Your spirituality increases your sensitivity.
Develop a personal relationship with God. Dare to know Him for yourself. Genuinely love God and desire to know Him more in the place of prayer. May the level of your relationship with God grow beyond Sunday services and weekly activities. There's more dear.
There's this influence mother's have on their children. You don't want to have nuisance who will be thorns in your flesh as children. You definitely can't control the life of your kids, but your prayers can influence them big time.
Therefore, you have to be familiar with the ways of God to bring up your child in that way.
Finally, there's this freshness that comes with loving and seeking God. There's a glow that even the best of makeover can't give you.
